Yao Silk’s Suzhou Embroidery Haute Jewelry Makes Its Louvre Debut, Earns International Recognition
Date:
October 24–27, 2024
Location:
Carrousel du Louvre, Paris (World Cultural Heritage Expo)
Event:
In collaboration with French jewelry designer Mira Ming, Yao Silk unveiled Suzhou embroidery haute jewelry,
including the China–France diplomatic relations 60th anniversary collector’s piece Wall of Love necklace and the Van
Gogh–inspired Dancing Butterflies amid Floral Shadows brooch. French First Lady Brigitte Macron and Minister of
Culture Rachida Dati attended, and the exhibition’s main visual identity prominently featured Yao Silk elements.
Work Details:
The Wall of Love necklace draws inspiration from Paris’s Love Wall, rendering ceramic tiles in iridescent blue
Suzhou embroidery and concealing the initial “A” for “Amour” at its center. The Dancing Butterflies amid Floral
Shadows brooch recreates Almond Blossom in Suzhou embroidery, crafted in titanium and accented with natural
diamonds.
