About the Spaces

Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping currently operates three physical exhibition venues in Suzhou, located respectively in Suzhou Embroidery Town (High-Tech Zone), Mugong Ancient Pine Garden in Mudu (Wuzhong District), and Ligongdi International Cultural and Creative District (Industrial Park).

Each of the three venues has its own distinctive character and, since the brand’s founding in 1998, has borne witness to different stages of its development.

The Yao Silk Flagship Space, located in the Ligongdi International Cultural and Creative District (Industrial Park) and adjacent to the Ligongdi Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping Brand Pavilion, is a contemporary lifestyle space where Suzhou embroidery is integrated into and serves the pursuit of a beautiful life.

Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping Creation Gallery

(Suzhou High-Tech Zone · Suzhou Embroidery Town)

The Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping Creation Gallery is located in Zhenhu, known nationwide as the hometown of embroidery and the birthplace of Suzhou embroidery—Suzhou Embroidery Town. Covering an area of over 2,500 square meters, the studio brings together nearly one hundred professionals specializing in original design and development, hand embroidery, mounting, and related disciplines, serving as an important base for the inheritance of Suzhou embroidery art.
The exhibition halls present representative works created by Yao Silk over nearly four decades, including The Silk Road, Setting Sail, Kapok Welcoming Spring, Meditation and the Floral Harmony of the Chinese Dream series A range of aesthetic products rooted in Yao Silk culture—such as Suzhou embroidery watches, apparel, and home décor—introduces Suzhou embroidery more closely into everyday life.
The Yao Silk Classroom Experience functions as a one-stop platform that connects the public with hands-on experiences of Suzhou embroidery. Within the Creative Studio, visitors can appreciate the culture of craftsmanship and experience the aesthetics of Suzhou embroidery. It stands as a distinctive platform representing innovation in traditional culture and Jiangnan culture, and as a high-quality venue reflecting Suzhou as a city characterized by the “double-sided embroidery” of economic and cultural development.

Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping Art Museum

(Mudu Ancient Pine Garden, Wuzhong District, Suzhou)

Located within the Mudu Ancient Pine Garden in Suzhou, the Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping Art Museum is embraced by towering ancient trees and framed by pavilions and traditional garden architecture. The time-honored buildings resonate harmoniously with the classic elegance of Suzhou embroidery, each enhancing the other.
Established in 2003, this garden-embedded Suzhou embroidery art museum was built with funding from the local government as a personal art museum for Yao Jianping. Situated adjacent to the memorial hall of Shen Shou, a revered master of embroidery, it reflects the dialogue between past and present in the inheritance of Suzhou embroidery. The museum serves as an important platform for the presentation and cultural dissemination of the Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping.

The Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping Brand Pavilion is located in the Ligongdi International Cultural and Creative District on the shores of Jinji Lake, a national 5A scenic area in Suzhou. It serves as an important foundational site for the brand development of the Embroidery Art of Yao Jianping. From the banks of Taihu Lake to the shores of Jinji Lake, Suzhou embroidery reveals a more international and contemporary dimension within the fashionable setting of Ligongdi.
Inspired by the form of a “silkworm cocoon,” the architectural design of the venue is contemporary and minimalist in overall style, while subtle details convey the refinement and elegance of tradition. Through professional curation and spatial design, this newly established brand gallery is filled with engaging possibilities, marking an important exploratory step in the brand-oriented development of Suzhou embroidery.
