In 2014, Shang Xia established a series of collaborations with embroidery artist Yao Jianping, commissioning her to create the Suzhou embroidery screen “Nobleman.” Building on the heritage of Suzhou embroidery, the work infuses the traditional art with contemporary allure, blending creative vision, romantic expression, and modern aesthetic sensibility.

The piece received high praise from the French Minister of Foreign Affairs during the China–France 50th Anniversary Exhibition in Paris, and was later acquired by a collector through Christie's auction.
